UluWatu Sunset

Finally arrive at UluWatu for the sunset beauty.
Not monkeys again...!

Yes yes! Everywhere monkeys. This time, even more dangerous. Take a closer look and you'll see the monkey trying to make a phone call. It was unlucky for one of the tourist there. This monkey snatched the mobile phone from his pocket and ran up the tree.

Why are they so aggressive? Well, due to food scarcity and the habits of human feeding them.
They'll take your belongings and exchange it for food. So be very careful when around these creatures.

Taking a quick shot near the cliff.

When we were trying to take a picture of the view, these 2 fellas suddenly pop out. Guess we were disturbing their family time enjoying the sunset! Haha!

They are cute, but beware. 5 minutes later, a lady was screaming. We found out that one of the
monkey had snatched her glasses and threw it over the cliff. They even scratched her face. Bad!

Even monkeys know how to appreciate the beauty of mother nature!

How's my photo taking skill so far? Like it? Please say you do....

Eat, Pray, Love - Julia Roberts

After a delicious meal of bakso, we headed to Uluwatu. On the way, Kasena showed us the place
where the famous Eat, Pray, Love was filmed. This part of the beach is best for surfing and
you can see many many surfers doing their thing here.

It was about a long long walk down to the beach from where we stopped. We dint have time to
enjoy this spot. Hmmm... never mind. I'll enjoy it the next trip.

Do you remember from the movie, where Julia Roberts was strolling down the wooden bridge to
get into the boat? Well, they crew built it for the movie. There aren't any bridge at this actual place.
It was built a week before the filming began at this scene.

The movie Eat, Pray Love. Location of the hut
This is the spot where they built the hut in the movie.

Bakso

We left the beach after the activities around 12.30pm and arrive at Raja Bakso at 1pm.
Drooling...

Raja Bakso - Beef / Chicken Ball Noodle stall

Bakso - Mixed
In this bowl, there's egg noodle, 2 beef ball, 1 chicken ball, sawi, mixed salted vege and
chopped meat, cucumber. And a bowl of soup.

Pour the soup into the bowl of noodle and mix thoroughly.

Being a typical Malaysian, no noodle meal in complete with out chili! So, I created my own chili sauce.
1) 2 table spoon of dark soy sauce
2) 4-6 dash of viniger (up to you own desired taste)
3) 3 spoon full of chili
Mix them all together.

I tried my mixture by adding some noodle in it. Verdict ~ DELICIOUS!
Even Kasena said it was amazing. This is the first time he tasted bakso this way, and he LOVED it!

Comparison between small beef ball and large beef ball.
The large bakso is larger than the size of a golf ball but not as big as a tennis ball. Somewhere in between.

The food was so good, we went back for another round of bakso on our last day before departure. Yummmyyy....

Beach Activity

The group arrived at this beach for some beach adventure. Pardon me I dint get the name of this place. I dozed off during the journey. Tired ma. I woke up 5am you know...

My first diving adventure!
There are many leaflets selling you beach activity packages. Listed in USD.
It is cheaper if you pay in USD due to the exchange rate.

I paid USD 80 for the chosen 3 activities. If you research more, you could get a better deal than me.
Fly Fish Activity

I'm quiet pleased paying that amount, which include jet ski. If my memory serves me right, it costs
between RM 90 - 120 to ride the jet ski in Langkawi or Redang, many years ago.
Jet Ski... wheeee..... vroom vroom!
I wonder... what's the speed limit for riding at sea?

Sand sculpture! Sexy!

A stretch of trees along the beach of Nusa Dua

Rest & Relax

I am staying here for my next trip in 2012.

The sand on Nusa Dua beach looks like this. Its really cute. It tiny round shaped sand, like lizard's egg.
And it's colorful too!

Hello... find me if you can...!
Look closely and you'll see 2 eyes and a mouth.

Random shot.

Souvenir for you! Wakakak......!!!

A local sorting and picking seaweed from the beach. Many locals come to the beach to pick seaweeds as a side income to help them in their daily expenditure. She said she has been doing this for many years.
She gets paid IDR 10,000 (Between RM 3.30 - RM 3.60) for every kilo of seaweed.

Sorting for seaweed.

This is the seaweed. When its still fresh it is green in color. The locals uses it in cosmetics, and to make desserts like the agar-agar.

When the seaweed is dried, it turns white. Sometimes pink or purple. When rub against your fingers, it releases a smooth substance similar to agar agar when it is wet.

Bangkok, Bangkok! Here I come....

Checklist:
1) Coffee
2) Shopping
3) Sight seeing
4) Chatuchak
5) History
6) Culture
... what else...?

From Heaven in Ubud to Hell in Kuta

PLEASE...! Choose or book your hotel online before your holiday!
I did not pre-book my hotel before the trip and i had to go hotel hunting again! It was rather
late and most of the hotels in Kuta was fully booked. Had to settle for this room instead.
Read on and you'll know why I say it's hell.
The room was not maintained. The mattress was old, the lamps not working, the floors were sticky.
The room smelled old too, as if it was vacant for a year.

Wardrobe. Picture says it all.

How much does it cost to change the switch? IDR 360,000 per room per night, but not willing to
change this simple thing?

The toilet was even worst!
I'll just stop here with the unpleasant experience.

Go for Tune Hotel. 10x better than most of the middle range hotels.

Dinner at Naughty Nuri's

After visiting Tanah Lot, we arrived at Nauthy Nuri's in Batubelig, for dinner.

Popular food on the list were BBQ-ued food.

We had dinner with our guide and ordered Soup Buntut, Chap Chay and BBQ ribs.

Will I return to Naughty Nuri's Warung? Maybe yes, maybe no. Why? Nothing spectacular for me. But for it wouldn't hurt to visit this place at least once, if you are in Bali.
I'll return for more Bakso than this Warung. Hehehe...

Tanah Lot

The lady in pink is trying to take a picture with the raging waves!
I was watching them during the whole process, about 20 minutes and finally they got their shot.
Good for them.

Wedding photo shoot. It was too far away to take a good shot. I zoom in to the max and the results...
Blurr but ok lah. Can see what they are doing right?

Ular Suci / Sacred Snake
It is believed that the legend says, the temple priest of this temple reincarnated into a sea snake and return to guard the temple. Click onto the picture to enlarge.
You'll see that the curves on the wall is similar to the stick on the left.

Tourist flock to taste the spring water believe to have Anti Aging effects
I was told that there spring water flowing out from the temple. See the white and yellow umbrella?
Kasena, our guide told us that the spring water is believed to be holy and the locals says it can cure skin disorders, rejuvenate the skin and even ANTI AGING!
Many tourist flock towards the gates of the spring source. During the rainy season, sea water levels raises above the gates up till the level where you see the trees are. When the water level lowers, the spring water stil produces clean, clear spring water. It doesn't taste salty like sea water.
Unbelievable? Believe it!
