Canang Sari

Canang Sari or Little Offerings in English, a Balinese Hindu offerings made to thank the Gods
in praise and pray.

Canang sari sare found in every corner of Bali. Be it at the office desk, Pura, gerai gerai or road side stalls, police stations, convenience stall, walk ways, window panes, stairs, garden, kitchen, door entrances or toilets. It is an offering to the island for peace, respect, gratitude, good business, good health, good fortune.

The word sari means essence while canang is the pouch or a small square basket made from coconut leaves. The canang sari is completed with colorful flowers and sometimes with food like rice or pulut.
Only certain flowers are allowed to be made as offerings.

I found this canang sari on the window edge of my hotel room.

Beautiful!
